主 題: The Geographic Concentration of Industry: Do State Taxes Matter?
內(nèi)容簡介: Using a dynamic panel data model, this paper explores the effects of state tax policy on the geographic concentration of industry. The results suggest that state taxes have differential impacts on the degree of geographic concentration across industries. Tax policy matters for manufacturing, wholesale trade, and retail trade industries, but responses to changes in specific elements of the tax policy differ across industries. The findings have important policy implications and help policymakers better target their economic development efforts.
